The former Saints striker signed for Hungerford in the summer after being released by Newport County, but after failing to make his mark at National League South side, re-joined St Neots on loan last month.
He has since scored five goals, including the crucial third in Saturday's 4-2 Southern Premier win at Farnborough – rekindling memories of his 21 goals for the clubs two years ago, and of his prolific Kershaw League days for the likes of Swavesey Institute, Oversports and Godmanchster.
Speaking to Cambridge News, Clements said:
“We've secured Tom for another month, and we want to keep him for as long as we possibly can,”
“We needed goals and he needed to play football.
“He's really enjoying it, but there's a few logistical problems, like the fact he still lives in Newport. But Hungerford have signed another striker, so Tom's perhaps not their top priority.
“Not only has he scored goals but he's helped evolve and instil confidence in the likes of Dylan Williams and Dion Sembie-Ferris, young players who had been shouldering the burden up front.”
