Redditch appoint Community Manager

By David Simpson

Important mission

Redditch United is delighted to unveil Ryan Kettle as its new community manager. The appointment represents a significant milestone, as it demonstrates further commitment to the town of Redditch but also the short and long-term future of the club.

Ryan will be tasked with overseeing all Redditch United in the Community projects, like the club’s successful satellite projects in Matchborough and Church Hill, as well as generating and implementing fresh ideas that will inspire younger members of the public to become integrated into Redditch society.

He will also lead the day-to-day running of the club’s academy. The club understands that a figurehead is needed to be the conduit between club, managers and parents, but also an individual to help develop pathways for young players and create opportunities for them in the future – Ryan will fulfil that role with professionalism and dedication, having gained invaluable experience in his role with the YMCA and as a tennis coach.

Forging relationships and building programmes with local schools and encouraging their students to become active, for example, will be crucial to the success of both parts of his remit. Creating a link with Redditch Borough Council to help tackle obesity and substance abuse is also key.

Redditch United Chairman and owner, Chris Swan, said: “On behalf of everyone associated with Redditch United, I would like to formally welcome Ryan to the football club. His experience and ambition made it clear that he would be the right person to fill this important position.

“He has bought into the philosophy of Redditch United, and I am excited to see what results he can produce within our growing junior section and thriving community projects.”

Redditch United General Manager, David Tittershill, added: “As our community projects continue to develop, we felt it was important to appoint someone who could match our passion for the town.

“This role required someone who has the local community at heart and will give complete commitment to Redditch and its people. Ryan ticks all the boxes, and we are confident that he will help take the community project to the next level.”
