Pearse, who took over as caretaker manager at Fairfax Park in March with the Robins already looking odds on for relegation from the EVO-STIK League Southern's Division One South & West, has told officials at Fairfax Park that he wants the job on a permanent basis after they started the formal process of inviting potential candidates to come forward.
Pictured in action, the former Barnstaple Town striker replaced Phil Hucker, who succeeded Dorchester-bound Craig Laird in January, for the club's last five outings after the former chief scout at Weston-super-Mare left in the wake of their 6-0 thrashing at the hands of Mangotsfield United on Saturday 25 March.
The Robins are likely to be heading for the Premier Division of the Western League next season and Pearse, who stepped up soon after signing for Hucker, told fans on Wednesday: “I will apply for it, potentially along with someone else as I would like to carry on playing.”
