Work Experience Deal

Evo-Stik League South West leaders Taunton Town have signed 18-year-old midfielder Joel Randall on a `work experience` from SkyBet League Two side Exeter City.

Randall is still part of the under-18 set-up at Exeter but made his first-team debut in the Checkatrade Trophy against Chelsea under-21s.

Randall came into the Exeter academy from one of the club’s development centres.

He has been at the academy since the under-11 age group.

He is a very skilful midfielder with loads of energy.

His arrival comes hot on the heels of the signing of Keith Emmerson from Farnborough.

Taunton boss Leigh Robinson told the club`s official website: “They are two good signings for us at a key time.”

Meanwhile, Taunton Town are beginning to become concerned about the number of postponed games due to the bad weather.

They have scheduled matches on Saturdays for the rest of the season which means three games called off recently will have to be played in midweek.

“We don’t want to go back to the times when we were playing two games in midweek to clear the pile-up,” said fixture secretary Martin Dongworth. “Things are not too bad at the moment but we don’t want any more of this bad weather”.
