It’s been a tough couple of weeks on the football front but it’s no more than I would expect in this tough league.
This is the youngest squad I’ve assembled at Biggleswade Town and with that brings its own problems. On Tuesday night we had 8 teenagers in the squad, and only 2 starters over 25.
The young lads are doing so very well, but you have to realise when dealing with a young squad you get inconsistent performances, the effort is always there and
the work rate is a given, but sometimes things don’t go according to plan.
The lads are adjusting to working full time and then playing football after work, it’s extremely tough for some of them especially when you are not fully developed as an adult.
There are a lot of very ambitious clubs in the Southern Prem this season, and there will be some very disappointed clubs come May. However ambition isn’t all who can spend the most, it’s who can stay competitive for many years.
We are now at level 3 for our 5th season so we must be doing something right. I will stay patient with the young boys and I ask our supporters to do the same, if we can keep believing in them it will help in their and the clubs development.
