Paul Quarrell, managing director of building firm William Powell & Sons and voluntary chairman of Hereford & Gloucester Construction Safety Association Limited, has officially taken on responsibility for all stadium related matters at Edgar Street led by health and safety and security.
A key member of the Edgar Street Safety Advisory Group (SAG) since April 2015, Quarrel had already been doing the job on an informal basis and was appointed on Thursday after the runaway EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West leaders beat Pegasus Juniors 3-1 the night before to reach April's HFA County Challenge Cup final.
To avoid any possible conflict of interest because of his business interests, Quarrell will not be able to vote at board meetings and Bulls officials say safeguards have been put in place to ensure best value continues to be sought when tenders are invited for work at their home.
More than 400 fans at Old School Lane saw Peter Beadle's side book their place in the HFA final with first half goals from John Mills, Rory Huntbach and Pablo Haysham before they returned to league action on Saturday with a 2-2 draw at Larkhall Athletic to stay 17 points clear of the chasing pack.
