New Defender joins

Great signing

Nick Rhodes has joined Cinderford Town from Evesham United, ahead of their game against Larkhall Athletic, writes Oli Fell.

Rhodes, now in his third stint at the Foresters, has re-joined the club from Evesham.

He was part of the Cinderford title winning side in 2015/16, and boss Paul Michael was delighted to find a replacement for Andy Lewis, who went the other way, so quickly.

He said: “It is always a loss when a player leaves, we wanted him to stay.

“I’m very happy to bring Nick in though, he knows the club and is a great replacement.

“We’re always on the lookout for more players, we haven’t been good enough in the final third this season.”

Unbeaten in three, the Foresters edged past Barnstaple 2-1 on Saturday and will overtake Larkhall with a win.

Michael said: “It was just good to get the three points. We should have been out of sight in the first half, the second half was scrappy.

“The pitch was heavy and we just had to get over the line.”

Larkhall currently sit one place above Cinderford in the table following their defeat to Winchester City.

The Larks are without a win in three, and this will be the first meeting between the teams this season.
