In the Premier Division, struggling Cambridge City followed up Saturday`s win at Redditch United with a hard-fought goalless draw against mid-table King`s Lynn Town at St Ives.
Neither goalkeeper was called into serious action, with Lynn coming closest when Kurtis Raven hit the bar in the 35th minute. For Linnets manager Gary Setchell, the stalemate proved to be his last match at the helm after he left the Norfolk outfit on Tuesday.
In EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central, Beaconsfield SYCOB made it one defeat in 15 matches against rock-bottom Petersfield Town to move into ninth place in the table, seven points behind the play-off places.
Despite the fact that the Hampshire side travelled to Holloways Park having accrued only nine points to date, they made their hosts work hard for their victory and took a 16th minute lead when Billy Connor broke clear and fired a cracking low shot past keeper Mo Ayoub.
Beaconsfield were level after 28 minutes when a free-kick was met by Guri Demuria who lobbed the keeper with his header. And just two minutes later, SYCOB were in front when Jack McKnight headed home a loose ball in the box.
Petersfield pulled level with Connor again breaking away, this time delivering a deft lob over Ayoub in the 63rd minute before Aaron Berry claimed the spoils for the home side 11 minutes from time.
