Unbeaten at Top Field in 13 consecutive league games since 19 January 2015 when eventual champions Corby won 4-2, the club's attendance stats have also been positive as Canaries fans enjoyed two draws and 11 wins during the run, the last a 4-2 success over Redditch United on Monday 12 December.
Despite cup matches proving less fruitful with replay defeats to Faversham, Enfield, Burnham and Wingate & Finchley over the last four seasons among 11 wins and two draws, Canaries secretary Roy Izzard insists the move has been a "great success" for manager Mark Burke and the Hertfordshire club.
He told fans via the club's news bulletin: "There have been mixed opinions about Hitchin changing their midweek night from Tuesday to Monday but all the evidence seems to suggest it has been a positive move both on and off the pitch.
"Attendances are certainly better on Mondays than they were on Tuesdays. We gain a number of groundhoppers who have a limited choice on Mondays while fans of other local clubs often come along without missing their own team’s game.
"It also means no clash with Champions League games on television and there seem to be less high profile games shown on Monday evenings. On the pitch Mondays have been good news and therefore it would definitely seem the Monday experiment has been a great success."
