Mills more than ready to return

Former Rugby Town manager Gary Mills is raring to go as first team coach at EVO-STIK League Southern King’s Lynn Town.

Mills, 35, was in charge at Butlin Town in the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League last season for just six weeks and was so disappointed by his experience that he thought his days in football were over.

The 35-year-old is ready to bounce back after Lynn boss Gary Setchell offered the UEFA B qualified coach a new lease of life at the end of May. Mills accepted the chance to return after nearly joining the touchline team at The Walks two years ago, instead opting to join former team-mate Kevin Wilson as his assistant at Wrexham.

Mills, who first played for the Linnets back in 2014 while on loan from Boston, pictured, is vastly of experienced having won the Football Conference and FA Trophy with Stevenage and will turn out as a player in the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight if needed.

He said: “I didn’t think I’d get back involved with the game after what happened. I really enjoyed my spell with the club before and I have a huge amount of respect for both Gary and Neil [Fryatt] as a management team. I’ve come in and tried to freshen things up a bit with some new ideas.”
