Linnets do not fear 3G

By David Simpson

Two tough away games

The Linnets begin a run of two Saturday away Southern Premier division fixtures with a trip to the south of Birmingham to tackle Redditch United on the 3G (3pm).

Town will be hoping to extend their recent fine form which has seen three straight victories achieved and a closure of the gap to top spot occupied by Hereford.

However with the Bull’s winning another of their “in hand” games in the week, coupled with victories for Kettering Town and Slough Town, Lynn know that a win will keep the pot boiling .

Speaking to www.kltown.co.uk ahead of the weekend manager Ian Culverhouse said he will be looking for more of the same from his side on Saturday.

“They really have been magnificent these past three games said Culverhouse, I cannot praise everyone enough. The work and commitment they have given me has been second to none , not only on the pitch but at training as well.

“A solid bond has developed between the group and that has been, and will be, vital as the run in approaches. We find ourselves at present in a good position but nothing more than that and with the midweek results going as I expected them too we know what we have to do again at the weekend. Redditch are a big and strong side and , like Farnborough, will give it a real go of that I have no doubt.

“The 3G surface will hold no fear for us and it could help us in our style of play. It’s always about results but even more so at this time of year so I will take a scruffy 1 – 0 if I have to on Saturday. No-one ever remembers a performance but the result is a different thing’.
