Leese's departure was announced on Friday after a meeting of the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division club's board on Thursday night. The decision to part company with Leese, pictured, followed a run of only four wins in 12 outings since February, a record that has left the Generals 10 points off the play-off spots.
In a statement confirming assistant manager Jon Meakes as their caretaker boss until the end of the season, Chesham United chairman Brian McCarthy paid tribute to Leese for taking them to one promotion, multiple play-offs in the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight and a memorable FA Cup run to the second round proper in December 2015.
The Chesham United chairman said: "After eleven seasons, as we begin to think about next season and beyond, it was felt that both the football club and Andy needed new opportunities, and new challenges.
"The board wishes to express sincere thanks for all Andy's hard work, passion and dedication over eleven seasons and wish him success in the future. Andy will always be welcomed at the club, has made many friends over the years, and I hope we see him at The Meadow in the near future."
With seven games to go, Meakes takes charge for the first time on Saturday at The Meadow for the visit of the club immediately above them in the table, sixth-placed Banbury United.
