League helps champions warm-up!

The EVO-STIK League Southern helped Chippenham Town get their celebrations underway on the final day of the season before a ball had even been kicked on Saturday!

Before collecting the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division Shield after hosting St Ives Town, fans in the bumper crowd at Hardenhuish Park saw EVO-STIK League Southern director Brian Rose present Bluebirds vice-chairman John Applegate with their third performance accolade of the club's triumphant 2016-17 campaign.

Under the guidance of manager Mark Collier, the Bluebirds won the honour on the way to the title in March after earlier successes in August and February, the champions taking maximum points from four wins in four outings while scoring nine goals along the way and conceding just three times.

Chippenham Town were named alongside Kempston Rovers and Evesham United as the penultimate Team of the Month Award winners of the 2016-17 season.

Sponsored by the Southern League's title sponsors EVO-STIK to recognise and reward the top performers in the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division, Division One Central and Division One South & West, the winners of the monthly honours are presented with cut glass trophies to record their achievements and 4.5L bottles of Bell's Whisky to celebrate their success with!
