Kings appoint sporting director

Kings Langley have appointed Terry Plowright as sports director as they prepare for life in the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight after earning three successive promotions.

The EVO-STIK League Southern Division One Central champions are backing the property developer and businessman to contribute to their continuing success since coming up from the Spartan South Midlands League.

Chairman Derry Edgar says his wide remit will include ground improvements, commercial opportunities and overseeing player contracts at Gaywood Park as well having “significant influence on the club’s direction and strategy”.

Edgar told the Watford Observer: “At the level the club are now operating it’s desperately important we get the type of people on board who can help us both sustain and develop the club. Terry fits that profile ideally. He’s a real football man with a well-earned reputation as a ‘doer’."

He added: “We have heard this week that we have been awarded the Sir Stanley Rous Memorial Trophy from the Herts FA for the outstanding achievement of three successive promotions.

“We are honoured to receive such a prestigious award and it is ample testimony to the efforts of everyone at the club who have contributed to our success.”
