Only four games were able to take place in the Evo-Stik League South East on Saturday due to the wet weather.
It was almost five, but the game at Holloways Park between second-placed Beaconsfield Town and mid-table Bedford Town was called off at the last minute due to the weather and a partial floodlight failure, with spectators receiving refunds.
Bottom side Arlesey Town did well to get their game on against Hayes & Yeading United – but may have wished they hadn`t as they were hammered 9-1 as the visitors moved into fourth spot.
Ola Olajubu gave Hayes a 9th minute lead from 25 yards, but Tony Williams equalised after 21 minutes.
But that was as good as it got for the home side as Ryan Kinnane immediately restored the visitors lead and then on 26 and 29 minutes Ismael Ehui and Manny Duku added two more, with Duku converting a penalty just before the break to make it 5-1.
Another penalty straight after the interval gave Duku his second, Ehui completed his hat-trick in the 58th and 70th minutes and Toby Little rounded things off with a ninth in stoppage time.
AFC Dunstable were another side to do well to get Creasey Park playable, but they missed the chance to go second after losing 2-0 to a now eighth-placed Chalfont St Peter.
Both goals came within 5 minutes midway through the first half from Alex Paine and then Ryan Haugh.
Moneyfields are sixth but had to make do with a point from a 2-2 draw at the Meadow against lowly Aylesbury United.
Sonny French gave the Ducks an early 7th minute lead that Ryan Pennery eventually cancelled out just past the hour-mark.
French scored again to restore the hosts` lead after 70 minutes, but only 4 minutes later, Pennery matched him with a second for Moneys.
Hanwell Town moved up to third-bottom after a surprise 4-1 win at Ashford Town (Middx).
It was a disappointing performance from the Ash Trees, who trailed to goals from Oliver Duffy after 6 minutes and Wayne Carter on 19 minutes before Max Webb pulled one back after 25 minutes.
But on 49 minutes, Peter Dean added a third and Harvey Killeen rounded things off with a fourth for the visitors 12 minutes from time.
