This one was certainly a game for the neutral with seven goals, a red card and a heated touchline.
The first of the seven goals came in the ninth minute from the head of The Reds captain James Mutton, found himself with acres of room in Gosport’s box. The home side showed no real intent to get back in the game, on the twenty-fifth Redditch doubled their lead with a fine finish just outside the box from Stuart Fleetwood.
A real lack luster first half by the home side, finishing with the visitors scoring two more, Fleetwood with his second and Lewis Wright putting the game out of reach.
Louis Bell must have said something right at half time with the home side coming out with two quick successive goals, Ed Sanders with a long range strike raising The Boro’s spirits and Ben Wright on his home debut firing a thunderous shot into the back of the net.
Ultimately Gosport’s strategy of all out attack backfired with Redditch on the counter in the sixty-third, Jordan Mills heading home a fine cross then putting an end to The Boro’s hopes of getting back In the game. Shortly after Harry Medway saw red for a tackle in the opposition box, then causing outrage on the touchline.
