Good and bad news for boss Baker

There is good and bad news for Slough Town – they have new shirt sponsors but have suffered a big injury blow ahead of Saturday's big kick-off to the EVO-STIK League Southern season.

Ahead of hosting St Neots today, the Rebels have confirmed that Morgan Sindall – the leading construction and regeneration group – are to back the EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division club for the next two seasons.

But Slough manager Neil Baker, pictured, is coming to term with the news that one of his big summer signings face a long spell on the sidelines. Harrison Gilkes, the ex-Poole winger, has ruptured his Anterior Cruciate Ligament and won’t play for quite some time.

Baker admits he and joint boss Jon Underwood could have done without the blow ahead of their league opener but told fans the pair were still upbeat on the eve of the campaign.

Baker said: “I’m absolutely gutted for him. It’s not what anyone wanted to hear and he’s been fantastic for us. He’ll bounce back for sure. He’s a top player and with a bit of luck he will come back even stronger.”

Where next?

The best of luck to all our clubs! Good luck to the EVO-STIK League Southern's fans, players and officials on the opening day of the 2016-17 season!
Holleran adds another new face Leamington manager Paul Holleran has added another new face to his squad ahead of the upcoming EVO-STIK League Southern season with the signing of midfielder Ryan Quinn.
