Mike Fowler has been handed the task of taking Tamworth back into the National League North after being named as the club’s new head coach.

But, as part of a club restructure, former Gloucester City manager Tim Harris will be joining the Lambs as director of football. The club have also announced former star Paul Green will be returning to The Lamb as player coach.

Tamworth will also be announcing a new under-21s boss in due course after the departure of Lee Fryers.

Chairman Bob Andrews said: “We are changing direction a little bit by bringing in a new director of football.

“Tim Harris is someone who has managed at various levels and he has vast experience.

“We believe Mike is a good coach and we believe that, together, they can take the club forward again.”
