Wins For Didcot & Bideford Set Up Final Day Drama

There were important Thursday night wins for Didcot Town and Bideford AFC in the Evo-Stik South West.

Didcot`s 2-0 win at neighbours North Leigh lifted them into sixth spot, while Bideford`s best-of-seven success at in-form Cinderford Town leaves them a point behind the Railwaymen in the race for a play-off spot.

Felipe Barcelos gave Didcot the boost of an early 5th minute lead that Cameron McNeill eventually doubled after 65 minutes.

At The Causeway, Bideford led 2-0 with goals from Ben Seymour after 15 minutes and Ben Wood after 29 minutes.

But the found themselves training 3-2 by the 69th minute following efforts from Lewis Bamford, Matt Macdonald and Craig Norman.

However, Dan Western got the winner for the Devonians 4 minutes into stoppage time.

Those results mean that five teams are still chasing the two remaining play-off places.

Didcot host Paulton Rovers, while Bideford are also at home to Winchester City, with Swindon Supermarine, at home to Barnstaple Town, Cirencester Town at Shortwood United and Bristol Manor Farm, who are at home to runners-up Salisbury FC, all also involved in the final day drama.

Elsewhere on Thursday night, Josh Jones` 13th minute effort eventually proved enough for Larkhall Athletic at home to Yate Town, while Conor McDonagh in the first half and then Callum Harvey and Declan Benjamin in the second period scored the goals that helped Kidlington to a 3-0 home victory over Shortwood.
