St Neots Town boss Matt Clements is ready to give young goalkeeping prospect George Bugg a chance to shine.
Bugg, who plays for the club’s Under 18 side, is set to make his senior debut in the club’s final Southern League Premier Division fixture of the season against Gosport this Saturday.
Bugg is also likely to start the club’s Hunts Senior Cup final against Eynesbury Rovers next Wednesday after recent number one Finlay Iron was recalled by League Two club Cambridge United.
Clements said: “George is a very good young goalkeeper who has trained with us all season and had spells out on loan at Potton and Long Melford.
“I have absolutely no issue in giving George his chance in the first time and it is pleasing to be be to bring through another of our own youth players.”
Michael Emery was Saints’ first-choice goalkeeper for much of the campaign, but he left the club at the end of January.
