Taunton Town dropped two crucial points when they were held to a goalless home draw by Bideford.
It means they fall back to third spot behind Salisbury FC, who won 5-2 at home to Wimborne Town, courtesy of braces from Tommy Wright and Lewis Benson and one from Kane O`Keefe – Toby Holmes and Louis Kellaway replying in front of a crowd of 914 at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.
Tiverton Town have also joined Taunton on 85 points after winning 4-0 at Barnstaple Town with goals from Levi Landricombe, Jamie Short, Tom Bath and a Steve Oliver own goal.
Evesham United are the other side in the top five but they were beaten 2-0 at home by the Bulls in front of a terrific crowd of 1,578, Pablo Haysham right on half-time and then top scorer John Mills in stoppage time scoring the away goals.
Swindon Supermarine have come up just short, despite hammering already-doomed Wantage Town 5-0 at the WebbsWood with a Joe Selman hat-trick and Ryan Campbell and Connor Waldon singles.
North Leigh also fell agonisingly close and were held to a 1-1 derby draw at Didcot Town with both goals coming in the final six minutes – Ben Whitehead giving Diddy the lead and George Seacole equalising.
Elsewhere, Lewis Powell bagged a brace as Mangotsfield United shared a 2-2 draw at Bishops Cleeve, while Will Morford did likewise for Shortwood United in their 2-1 win at Slimbridge.
Ryan Radford scored the only goal 15 minutes from time as Paulton Rovers beat already-relegated Bridgwater Town at home, and Yate Town drew 2-2 at home to Larkhall Athletic, whose Ed Dryden levelled 12 minutes from time.
Ian Oliver`s 14th minute goal eventually proved enough for AFC Totton in a 1-0 win at Winchester City in the day`s other game.
