Diddy ready to 'avenge'

By David Simpson

Ready !!

After a successful trio of home games, Didcot are back on the road as the travel to table toppers Taunton Town this Saturday.

The Peacocks ran out 4-0 winners at the The Loop back in October and since then, Diddy have only lost just once which has seen us rise to fourth in the table.

We will look to avenge that defeat against a side who have only lost just once this season and look odds on favourites for promotion. Taunton were one of the promotion favourites last season and were denied in the play offs by eventual winners Tiverton and they are on course to go one better this season.

Despite the recent good form, Andy’s side has been hit by a number of injuries in recent weeks with Seth Humphries, Marlon Agyakwa and Louis Joyce all joining Callum McNish on the sidelines with Ollie Thomas served a three match suspension.

The absences has given a number of our successful youth team setup given an opportunity for some first team football and Henry Horton, Tom Morris and Brett Gardner all didn’t look out of place when they’ve made an appearance. Marlon and Louis look set to make the trip to Taunton this Saturday whilst Callum and Seth remain out. Ollie Thomas returns from suspension.

A reminder to supporters that we are running a coach tomorrow afternoon so please come and get behind the boys in Somerset in what is going to be a tight battle between two of the leagues in form sides. The coach will be leaving the look at 10.15 sharp and the cost of travel is £15. It will be on a first come first served basis.

If you’re not making the trip, our Reserves are back in action as they host Chalfont Wasps at The Loop tomorrow. Chris Hurley will be looking to get back to winning ways after a number of draws recently.
