Having lost their last game to Kings Langley some 18 days previously, Royston were able to avenge the defeat with a comfortable 4-0 victory on their return to action.
The first half was a fairly quiet affair with the first real action in the 17th minute resulting in the opening goal. A measured ball from Scott Thomas found Lee Chappell whose cross eventually fell to Adam Marriott to slot home, although it did look to be via the hand of Scott Bridges.
Shortly afterwards Kings Langley had their best opportunity as a free header was cleared off the line, but Royston soon gained the ascendancy, as Chappell saw a shot cleared off the line and Marriott had a goal chalked off for offside, following a Rohdell Gordon shot that cannoned off the post.
Despite Kings starting the second half well it was Royston who doubled their advantage in the 54th minute as Dan Brathwaite bundled home from close range following a short corner routine. The lead was further extended in the 65th minute, as Marriott picked up the ball nearly 30 yards out and arrowed a low effort just inside the post.
The scoring was rounded off in the 88th minute as the hard working Gordon dispossessed visiting skipper Gary Connelly and advanced forward, before beating goalkeeper Bennett at his near post, to round off a convincing Crows performance.
