Campaign is no joke for Dennis

Comedian Hugh Dennis was at Petersfield Town's clash with Northwood in the EVO-STIK League Southern on Saturday.

The star of BBC shows Mock the Week and Outnumbered was at the Love Lane Stadium for the EVO-STIK League Southern Central Division fixture to celebrate the launch of Dementia Friendly Petersfield.

Set up to make sure businesses and groups in the town centre are more aware of the condition and better prepared to help people living with dementia, the group is being supported by the Rams who've added the initiative’s logo to their new shirts this season.

Dennis, 54, was at the Love Lane Stadium from lunchtime meeting fans and supporters of Dementia Friendly Petersfield before seeing the Rams go on to lose 2-1.

Petersfield Town chairman Graeme Moir is proud of the Hampshire club's efforts to combat the condition.

He said: “The scheme helps businesses in the town centre to understand dementia better and help people living with the condition to enjoy a better experience when they visit those businesses. As a club we support a number of charities every season and we are proud to display the logo on our shirts of a scheme which is making a real difference to our town.”
