Cambridge United youngster impressing Saints

Attacking full back

St Neots Town boss Matt Clements was thoroughly impressed with Cambridge United youngster Jordan Norville-Williams’ debut last weekend.

The 18-year-old was brought in by Clements last week on a work experience deal from the U’s, which the manager says has the potential to be until the end of the season.
Norville-Williams played at left back in the Southern League Premier side’s 2-2 draw against Bishop’s Stortford, and so impressive was the 18-year-old that he will start tomorrow at Dorchester Town as well.

“It was a great performance from him, and I expect much more. He started on Saturday, and he’ll start again next week,” Clements said.

“He showed the kind of things that we need, which is being brave, being positive, looking to go forward from the left back position and to work hard. All the basics he’s brought in abundance really.

“Jordan’s going nowhere as far as I’m concerned. I said I’d only bring the boys in if I think they’ve got an opportunity to play. You can’t promise them anything, they have to take that opportunity.

“Off the back of what I saw, he ticks all the boxes that we want. He’s young, he’s hungry, he was courageous, he gave 100 per cent. He was an attacking threat from left back. Those are all the things that I wanted, and he did it.
