Burke rolls up the sleeves

Players to make amends

Despite a very poor performance and defeat to our neighbours Biggleswade Town we must not allow ourselves to get too down. We experienced a performance when the majority of players had an off day but I am confident that we will dust ourselves down, pick ourselves up and prepare ourselves for another difficult game at Stratford.

Our season has been sporadic with sequences of results that have been both up and down. What we need to do between now and the end of the season is to find some consistency and a run of results that will see us finish in the top ten and hopefully win some silverware. This is a time for everyone at Hitchin Town - players, officials, management and fans - to stick together and face the challenges ahead.

We have another difficult fixture on Saturday when we visit Stratford which has not been a happy hunting ground in the past. We will need to break the current cycle of results to try and get our league form back on track. Stratford have demonstrated they are a match for any team in the league on their day and they have a good home record.

This will be a good opportunity for our players to make amends for the Biggleswade performance.
