Brother scores first for sibling boss

New Cirencester Town boss Charlie Griffin saw his younger brother Alan score on his debut on Saturday after they were reunited in the EVO-STIK League Southern.

Signed from Chippenham Town in midweek, the 33-year-old former Corsham Town, Swindon Supermarine and Mangotsfield United striker, pictured, has been one his brother's top targets to boost his firepower since he took over at the struggling Centurions in October.

The Centurions boss, who's brought in seven new faces in the past three weeks, will hope his sibling's goal - a fierce drive in off the underside of the bar in his side's 4-1 reverse at Redditch United - will be the first of many of many in the EVO-STIK League Southern's top flight.

The forward took a break from the EVO-STIK League Southern to become player-manager at then-Wiltshire Premier League side Malmesbury Victoria following knee surgery in the 2014-15 season. By then a cult hero among fans at Hardenhuish Park, he was tempted back by Bluebirds by boss Mark Collier in December 2015 for a fourth spell as an emergency striker and has been a squad regular ever since.
