Brad Wadkins has today left the club following a 7-day approach from Enfield Town in the Ryman Premier League.
We sat down with Brad a couple of weeks back and had a discussion about where we saw him in the squad, and he talked about wanting to start most games. This was probably more the case for him now having been out injured for a good chunk of the season.
Obviously with the squad of players we have, we cannot guarantee anybody a starting place, and we let Brad know this which has helped sway his decision.
Once we had the contact from Enfield, where his ex-manager is in charge, we decided to waive the 7-day approach as there is no point in keeping a player that no longer wants to be at the club.
Brad is a great lad, and it is a shame that injuries have not helped him make the impact we all wanted him to have. However he has scored some important goals for us, he goes with our blessing, and we wish him the best of luck back at Enfield.
With Gavin James out on loan at Met Police, he will be brought back in on Tuesday to cover Floody’s absence, and he will then return to Met Police for a couple more games after which we will review the situation.
