Boss Brown Aiming for Another Promotion

Basingstoke Town’s end to last season could help them put a surprise promotion package together next season.

That’s the hint put forward by Terry Brown, the Dragons manager who will lead the club forward again next season.

The great news for their fans is that they will remain at the Camrose next season.

The turn around has picked up the mood and as the Southern League Premier club returned to pre season training the Town manager is in bullish mood.

He said: “We’re not one of the clubs people have spoken about and I understand the reason for that.

“We’ve got a squad of younger players not earning very much so it’s not a surprise to me.

“But we ended last season in good fashion and if we can build on that you really never know. We’re looking to improve.

“If the players can use that momentum then they give themselves a chance. We know we’re not the big hitters and it will be a strong league next year.”

Brown is a promotion specialist, taking Hayes, Aldershot, AFC Wimbledon and Margate up.

There hasn’t been a team he has managed who haven’t earned promotion and fans hope next season he can take Basingstoke back into the Vanarama National League South.
