Blackmore: Champions can soar

Blackmore reckons the National League South-bound EVO-STIK League Southern Premier Division title winners have all the right ingredients in place to carry on climbing Non-League's ladder with the club's fan base, support from their local authority and plans moving forward to develop Hardenhuish Park.

The Bluebirds chairman, who will see their stars of the season honoured at their 2016-17 presentation night on Saturday after earning promotion to the highest level in their history while setting a record top flight points total of 103, insists the sky is the limit for the Wiltshire club and manager Mark Collier's side.

Blackmore told gazetteandherald.co.uk: "I don’t believe that the National League is unrealistic for a town this size, there’s nothing stopping us at all and I think that’s very realistic. If you compare us with the size of Nailsworth, where Forest Green Rovers are from, it’s much smaller and Yeovil I don’t think are that much bigger."

Blackmore also appealed for more volunteers to join them and help make next season a success before congratulating the club's current team community team.

He added: “We’d definitely like more volunteers. I’m very lucky I have got a small army of volunteers but we could always do with more. I can’t pick one person who I’m most pleased for, everyone works so hard and I’m so pleased for everyone.”
