Banned hot-shot is ready to strike

Sklenar, a product of Cheltenham Town’s youth set-up, signed for the Swans in June but has been unable to play for the EVO-STIK League Southern South & West club while serving a 182-day ban for knocking a linesman's flag out of his hand in frustration over the match official's decision.

The 25-year-old was penalised for his actions in the dying seconds of a game for Cheltenham Saracens against Clanfield in the Hellenic League in April after he felt his side had won a corner while claiming he'd been fouled.

The former Pegasus striker had been in prolific form, helping the Saracens clinch promotion to the Hellenic League Premier Division last season as runners-up to champions Carterton Town a year after firing Cheltenham Civil Service to the Gloucestershire County League title in 2014-15 with 51 goals.

The ban ends on Wednesday and Sklenar will turn out for his old club Cheltenham Civil Service at Oldland Abbotonians in the GFA Challenge Trophy second round that night to build up his match fitness before being available to finally make his Swans debut on Saturday when they host Salisbury at Thornhill Park.

Sklenar, who has also played for Bishops Cleeve, told www.gloucestershirelive.co.uk on Monday that he was looking forward to finally be available for selection by manager Leon Sterling.

He said: "It's been hard not playing, but I've made it easier by warming up most games and travelling to closer away games. We had a great first five games, staying unbeaten, but we have tailed off since the FA Cup exit to Taunton Town and have been struggling to find the net.

"I'd like to think I can bring some goals because that's what I've been brought in for. I'll get in the right areas and it's not like there is a shortage of chances as the team is still creating."
