The club play one Western League fixture, beating Street 4-2 at home, and a single Dorset League fixture (reserves) which was drawn 1-1 at Kinson Utd before being disbanded due to the outbreak of the Second World War. The Recreation Ground is requisitioned by the War Office and does not get used for football except for a small number of exhibition matches are played

Weymouth move to the Wessex Stadium, playing their first fixture on 18 August 1987 against Taunton Town in the Western Counties Floodlight Cup.
Ron Greenwood opens the new ground, officially, prior to a celebration match against Manchester United, on 21 October 1987.
The attendance at the United game sets a ground record of 4904.

1988-1989

Weymouth finish bottom of the Conference and are relegated for the first time in the club's history, returning to the Southern Premier League.
13 January 1989 Morgan leaves "by mutual consent" and is replaced by John Impey who takes the post as caretaker until Gerry Gow is appointed.

Gow is dismissed in April 1990 and Paul Compton is appointed as player-manager

11 September 1994 Coldwell is sacked and replaced by Trevor Senior and Willie Gibson who take charge in a caretaker role. Senior takes the role as player-manager in January 1995, but is sacked on 10th April 1995. He is replaced by a returning Graham Carr on 12 May 1995

Carr resigns in September 1995 and club chairman Matt McGowan takes the caretaker role, but then stays in the post.

Claridge is sacked following Weymouth's FA Cup defeat at Thame United on 19 October 2004. Paul Buckle and John Waldock (players) along with Gary Borthwick (coach) take over on a caretaking basis until the appointment of Steve Johnson in November 2004.

Johnson is sacked after indifferent results, on 15 March 2005. Initially Waldock and Borthwick, assisted by Roy O'Brien (player) take the caretaker role until Garry Hill is appointed on 22 March 2005.
