The retired businessman, who joined the board during the latter stages of last season, was elected as the club's new chairman this week following an Extraordinary General Meeting of shareholders that saw his predecessor David Phillips voted off the board.
The EGM also re-elected Ian Ridley as vice-chairman with responsibility for overseeing the administrative, public relations and commercial operations at the EVO-STIK League South West's Whites.
In a statement on their website, officials also confirmed the promotion of Thomas Belk to general manager at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium with Jeremy Harwood continuing in his role as director of safety and Graeme Mundy remaining facilities director.
Fans will get their first chance to question new Whites chairman Hammond at a fans' forum on Sunday 1 July after Steve Claridge's side kick off their pre-season friendly programme by hosting Portsmouth.
The father of three and grandfather, pictured, is looking forward to explaining his vision for the club to fans at the event which starts in the Sarum Suite at 6pm.
He said: “I’m delighted the board has placed their faith in me after the meeting that we have just had. I will do my best to serve the club and make it successful on the field and sustainable off the field.”
