WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley knows that everything is still to play for as his side head into a clash at rivals Kettering Town (7.45pm) tonight.
The crunch match could prove crucial in deciding the destination of their play-off semi-final in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division.
The Poppies are in third, ahead of the Terras on goal difference after a 7-0 win over Gosport on Tuesday and with a game in hand, but they still have to play league leaders Hereford before the end of the season.
Molesley said: “Everything is to play for still so it is exciting times and a lot of challenges await.
“The next game is always the biggest game for us and that is certainly the case with Kettering.
“We are always respectful of the opposition but we know that we go there and if we work hard and make sure we show the right attitude and work ethic then we feel we can give them a good game. We are looking forward to the game now. We always respond well, we always react well.”
Those who place second and third in the table will be rewarded with a home tie for the play-off semi-final, with the play-off final being held at the home of the team that placed higher in the table of the two semi-final victors.
Kettering have had a hectic schedule with at least four games left to play and have had three games in the past week.
When asked about Kettering’s schedule, Molesley said: “We have got to try and make any advantage count. We have got to go out there and make sure we outrun and out-work them as much as we can but they are a big, strong outfit.
“They have got a big squad and they have been rotating, they had a good win on Saturday and they managed to get a few of their players off and rested.”
Molesley is confident in his squad however as he said: “We can only control us, I cannot control what Kettering are, what they have got or what is going on.
“I just know if our boys prepare right and turn up with the right attitude we will give any team a good game.”
