"A horrible night from start to finish"

Concede 8 goals in two matches

WINCHESTER City suffered a second away defeat in the space of four depressing days in the Evo-Stik South West.

Beaten 4-1 at Bristol Manor Farm on Saturday, Craig Davis’s side had hoped to make amends at Bishops Cleeve tonight.

But, once again, it was rough ride home as they succumbed 4-2 to the league’s bottom club, leaving them to reflect on “a horrible night from start to finish”

Rocked by a second-minute Harlie Price opener, City replied with an 18th-minute Jamie Barron penalty after Oli Bailey had been fouled by Jordan Staten.

But an unfortunate Danny King own goal was quickly followed by a Joe Bates strike from a dropped cross to make it 3-1 at half-time.

Although Winchester got plenty of shots away in an open game, they fell 4-1 down to a Bates penalty before Bailey pulled a late one back from Pat Cox’s assist.

Despite the double setback, City remain sixth, just three points off third spot heading into Saturday's home game against Barnstaple Town (3pm).
