Long trip to Royston and back

WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley says he is just pleased to have his side playing football ahead of their trip to Royston Town in the Evo-Stik Southern Premier Division tonight (7.45pm).

The Terras bounced back from a 2-1 defeat away to struggling Dunstable Town last Tuesday with a resounding 6-0 thrashing of Farnborough on Saturday.

Brandon Goodship bagged a brace while Jake McCarthy, Harry Baker, Ben Thomson and Abdulai Baggie were also on the mark in the romp over Boro.

Molesley said: “We came off the pitch after Farnborough in a good place and confident and we cannot wait to get back out on that coach and play another game of football.

“I have got players who enjoy playing football so another game whether we have to travel five miles or 500 miles, we are just pleased to be here.”

The Crows are currently in eighth place in the table with 49 points while Weymouth are in fourth with 60 points.

Royston’s match away against St Ives Town at the weekend was postponed but the Hertfordshire outfit are on a fantastic run of form at the moment in the league, having won six of their last seven games.

Molesley said: “There is no tougher place to go in the league at the moment probably with their form and the way they are doing. They got called off at the weekend so they will be fresh and ready for action.”
