Christmas is coming, the Goose is getting fat, the team are on fire and we all loudly applaud that'
Last night we entertained Hartley Wintney for the first time, at the end of ninety exhilarating minutes the points were shared. We opened the scoring in the 7th minute with Prince M'Bengui's first goal for the club, this was cancelled out 10 minutes later by Paul Hodges.
Dylan Kearney, who netted a hat-trick last Saturday against Barton Rovers, restored our lead in the 58th minute, only for James Tennant to earn the Hampshire visitors a point with a 66th minute leveller. Both sides had more than enough chances late in the match to clinch the winner but, in hindsight a 2-2 draw was the right result.
This weekend we travel up the M1 to The Eyrie, the home of Bedford Town. Our current record against The Eagles is Played 11, Won 3, Lost 4 and Drawn 4. Our most recent result came on the first day of this season when we entertained Bedord at Honeycroft, we ran out 3-1 winners with goals from Wright, Brown and Peden. The Red Army have only won once at The Erie, this was in 2015 when Kevin Warner scored the only goal of the match.
The comparative form guides of the two clubs, who sit one position apart in the League table shows Bedford town with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses whereas Uxbridge have won 4, drawn 1 and lost to league high-fliers Cambridge City.
