Taunton Town made it twenty matches unbeaten in the Evo-Stik League South West and maintained their twelve-point lead over second-placed Salisbury FC – and also have a game in hand – after edging out Swindon Supermarine at the Viridor Stadium on Saturday.

A crowd of 513 saw Matt Buse`s 74th minute goal prove enough to win it for the Peacocks against their play-off chasing visitors.

Salisbury had a more comfortable 5-1 win at the Ray Mac against third-bottom Slimbridge.

In front of 631, Owen Howe, Stuart Green and George Colson had the Whites three-up at the break.

Green went on to complete his hat-trick in the 63rd and 84th minutes, sandwiched by a Kai Mahon reply for the Swans.

Steve Claridge`s side hold a seven-point advantage over third-placed Bristol Manor Farm, who won 4-1 at home against a Winchester City side who started the day in fourth and ended it in sixth.

After taking a 10th minute lead through Dan Williamson, City conceded two before half-time to Troy Simpson and Lloyd Mills and then two more in the second from Jamie Adams and Mills again.

Didcot Town and Wimborne Town both leap-frogged Winchester after respective 3-0 and 5-0 wins.

The Railwaymen beat seventh-placed Evesham United at the Loop with second half goals from Felipe Barcelos, George Jeacock and Ollie Thomas, while the Magpies hammered North Leigh at home – their tenth game without a win.

Toby Holmes enjoyed himself, netting four of the five in the 34th, 45th, 54th and 61st – Jack Lovell making it a nap hand in stoppage time.

AFC Totton dropped two home points in their play-off challenge after drawing 1-1 against Cinderford Town, whose Matt MacDonald put them in front just before the break.

Tony Lee equalised shortly after the hour-mark.

Bottom side Bishops Cleeve were beaten by the odd goal in five at second-bottom Barnstaple Town, who are ten points clear.

Barum led 3-0 with Tallan Mitchell, Harry Stevens and Chris Ibbeson all in the first half.

Cleeve `won` the second half with Ben Hands and Harlie Price making it a nervy finale.

Elsewhere, Alan Griffin bagged a brace as Cirencester Town won 2-1 at the Corinium Stadium against Bideford AFC, whose Josh Key replied in time added on, while Matt Britton and Joe Tumelty outgunned Kidlington`s Mark Janes for visiting Larkhall Athletic.

A 19th minute Kane Simpson goal won the Cossham Street derby between Mangotsfield United and Paulton Rovers, while Shortwood United and Yate Town shared a 1-1 draw in which the home side led through Will Hawes` goal 5 minutes before half-time until 4 minutes into stoppage time at the end when Ben Brooks pulled the Bluebells level.
