The Mangos suffered a 6-1 hammering at second-placed Taunton Town last weekend but a Lewis Powell goal 11 minutes from time sealed their win at the Meadowbank Ground to put them four points behind fifth-placed Evesham United.
North Leigh`s top five hopes haven`t mathematically gone but they would need a remarkable blow-up from teams above them to be in the reckoning.
They did manage a 4-2 home with over Barnstaple Town on Tuesday though which leaves them eight points behind Evesham with a game in hand.
The Oxfordshire side were three-up at the break, courtesy of Roger James after 20 minutes, Lance Williams three minutes later and Michael Hopkins right on half-time.
Liam Gregory from the spot reduced the deficit on 64 minutes and then Ryan Turner put Barum to within a goal of their hosts on 77 minutes. However, George Seacole made it 4-2 less than a minute later.
