Tuesday's Evo-Stik South, West Round-Up

Stags, Peacocks & Robins Are 100 Per Cent

Only three teams have managed to win their opening two matches of the new Evo-Stik League South West campaign, while four are still looking to get off the mark.

AFC Totton, Taunton Town and Bideford are the sides who all won on Tuesday night to make it back-to-back victories.

The Stags inflicted a second successive defeat on Bishops Cleeve by beating them 3-1 on their own patch.

Craig Feeney gave the visitors a 13th minute lead that Jacob Sloggett levelled 8 minutes into the second half.

Just 3 minutes later though, Stuart Mott restored Totton`s lead and Nathaniel Sherborne made sure with a third just past the hour-mark.

Taunton, last season`s play-off losers, beat Mangotsfield United 2-1 at Wordsworth Drive – the Mangos second loss.

Matt Wright bagged a brace for the Peacocks in the 19th and 71st minutes after Lewis Ellington had equalised in the 26th minute.

And Bideford`s Craig Allan scored the only goal at Yate Town 11 minutes into the second half to make it two wins for the Devonians.

Joining Mangotsfield and Bishops Cleeve on `nil-point` are relegated Cirencester Town and Barnstaple Town.

Ciren play tonight, while Barum lost 3-0 at home to a Larkhall Athletic side who drew last weekend.

It was goalless at the interval, and then 5 minutes in, Jamie Adams put the Larks ahead and a Matty Groves brace on 60 and 64 minutes sealed Barum`s fate.

Didcot Town and Kidlington won their first games of 2017/18 – Diddy beating a Wimborne Town side who had won their opener, 4-2 at home with goals from George Reid with two, a Jack Lovell own goal and Matty Woodley – Dan Cann and Jamie Stokoe replying.

Neighbours Kidlington beat Winchester City, who had also won last weekend, thanks to a 24th minute Lewis Coyle effort.

Salisbury, who hammered Mangotsfield away last Saturday, had to be content with a point at the Ray Mac against a Paulton Rovers side who lost their opener.

A crowd of 588 saw Kane O`Keefe give the Whites an early 7th minute lead that Joe Hillard cancelled out after 26 minutes.

Kailan Gould then put the visitors ahead in the 56th minute, only for Tom Whelan to ensure Salisbury had a point.

New boys Bristol Manor Farm and Shortwood United shared a 3-3 thriller in which the home side were three-up with goals from Jordan Metters, James Turner and Dean Stamp by the 54th minute.

But a quick response from Levi Cox and then 2 goals in 7 minutes either side of the hour-mark from Ryan Meredith and Cox again earned a first point for Shortwood.

A first point too for North Leigh after George Seacole`s 65th minute equaliser earned them a point at Swindon Supermarine, whose Josh Parsons had put them ahead after 25 minutes.
