However, the fact that the Peacocks` voted goalkeeper Lloyd Irish as their man of the match, shows that they were fortunate to get all three points against a very decent Foresters outfit, who belied their lower mid-table position on the night.
A crowd of 231 braved the Somerset cold, the majority of who were looking to see if Leigh Robinson`s side could follow up their hugely impressive 4-1 win against fancied Salisbury FC last Saturday.
This is a crucial period for Taunton as this was the third of an incredible run of six successive home matches which could send them a long way towards claiming the title.
And they couldn`t have wished for a better start when Matt Wright converted Ollie Chamberlain’s cross to put the Peacocks ahead after just 30 seconds!
But instead of that acting as a spur for the hosts, it got Cinderford to roll up their sleeves and they saw much more of the ball than Taunton did for the remainder of the half.
Just before the break, Irish pulled off a great save to deny Craig Norman`s far post header.
And in the second half, he made two or three more decent saves to keep his side in front and deservedly received the sponsors` reward at the end of the game.
