Tuesday's Central Division action review

By David Watters

Royston Town moved four points clear at the top of the EVO-STIK League Southern's Division One Central table on Tuesday night after a 3-1 win at seventh-placed Potters Bar Town, writes Pitchero's Steve Whitney.

Ryan Ingrey gave the Crows a 22nd minute lead that John Frendo doubled nine minutes after the break.

The Scholars pulled one back four minutes later, only for Ryan Towner to ensure the points went to the visitors with a third in the 77th minute.

Kempston Rovers are third after earning the bragging rights in the derby at the New Eyrie against Bedford Town.

A disappointing crowd of 169 saw Danny Watson`s 13th minute effort prove enough to win it for the Walnut Boys.

Fifth met sixth at Creasey Park and it finished all-square at 3-3 between AFC Dunstable and neighbours Barton Rovers.

Steve Gentle put Rovers in front after 21 minutes, only for the home side to lead 3-1 at the break with a brace from Brandon Carney and a single from Jermaine Hall.

But a Connor Calcutt penalty seven minutes after the interval and Tom Smith`s 67th minute equaliser earned parity for Rovers.

The bottom two both lost again on Tuesday.

Basement outfit Histon were beaten 2-1 at Arlesey Town, whose Arel Amu bagged a brace after Max York had given the Stutes a seventh minute lead.

Petersfield Town lost to an 89th minute Abobaker Eisa goal for Uxbridge at Love Lane.

Fleet Town won 2-1 at Calthorpe Park against Aylesbury United with Pat Cox on 70 minutes and Danilo Cadette eight minutes from time turning it round for the hosts after Jonny Miller`s 37th minute opener for the Ducks.

Hanwell Town enjoyed a good 3-1 win at Ashford Town (Middx), whose Dan Fleming had cancelled out Joe Chadiram`s 27th minute opener within two minutes. Zak Joseph and Ricky Pither won it in the second half for Hanwell.
