Trebes returns to St Ives

Keeper returns

The shot-stopper initially left St Ives due to family commitments and has been playing at lower-level Eynesbury Rovers recently, but is now ready to step back in to boost Ricky Marheineke’s side in their battle against relegation.

Youngster James Goff has been the Saints number one for most of this season, but has been recalled by League One side Northampton Town

“It is great to have Tim back and I’m sure he will get a good welcome from the supporters,” said Marheineke. “He is a top goalkeeper.

“Tim put us in a difficult position in some ways as he always made it clear he wanted to return once his second child had been born early in the season.

“We went into the campaign with a loan goalkeeper fully expecting Tim to be back within a few weeks, but his situation then changed and it didn’t pan out that way.

“He felt going to Eynesbury was a better option due to his increased family commitments and a lot less travelling being involved in playing at that level.

“But he hasn’t enjoyed his football by all accounts. We had a conversation earlier this week and it became clear that Tim coming to St Ives was ideal for both parties.”
