Tiverton Town urge fans to turnout

Martyn Rogers has urged Tiverton Town supporters to turn out in force for Saturday’s home game against Dunstable Town as they implement a pay what you want scheme.

The Yellows are ranked 18th out of 24 teams in the Southern League Premier Division for average attendance after winning promotion last season.

Yet they are performing well on the pitch and are in with a shout of the play-offs, but manager Rogers has stressed that the team cannot improve on the pitch unless crowds go up.

He said: “I’ll be honest, I’m really disappointed with our crowds this year. The people that have turned up have been absolutely brilliant but I just feel we haven’t had the crowds that we should get, really.

“What the players have done this year has been superb and I think we’re well short of what we expected.

“Consequently, money is very, very tight at the club at the moment and, if we’re looking to improve things for next year, the board are going to be looking at me and asking where we’ll get the money from to get better players and enable us to get promotion.
