Match Report..

STUART Fleetwood coolly guided home the stoppage-time leveller that rescued Reds a point against Banbury.

A match, of few clear-cut openings, ended in dramatic fashion as Fleetwood nudged home a swinging Ashley Sammons centre after star man Adam Page had chased down a lost cause during the last knockings.

Shining light Page had handed the Reds a ninth-minute lead, taking a lofted pass in his stride before executing a crisp low shot across Jack Harding.

Bar the odd scramble that was it for the first-half action but Redditch could have been two to the good 21 seconds after the restart with Sammons firing over Fleetwood’s cutback from 20 yards.

Lewis Wright pounced upon a mistake from Tom Bradbury five minutes later only for Harding to push his stinging effort up into the air and gather at the second attempt.

Banbury took full advantage of the reprieve as Charlie Hawtin’s inviting centre was powered home by skipper Ricky Johnson within 30 seconds of that scare.

Conor McDonagh and Johnson both went close from high centres but the hosts did not heed the warning with Bradbury left totally free to nod in a free-kick from two yards at the far post.

Redditch found themselves largely stifled as time ticked away with Fleetwood’s flick back to Sammons to drill across goal nine minutes from the end a rare highlight.
