Weymouth have signed goalkeeper Will Dennis on loan from Premier League neighbours AFC Bournemouth after seeing their previous on-loan keeper, Mark Travers, return to the Vitality Stadium after being at the Evo-Stik League South Premier club since the start of the season.
Dennis was previously with Luton Town and Watford, and has been with the club for a year after signing at the start of the 2016/17 season.
He travelled with the under-21s on their pre-season training camp to Alicante at the start of this campaign and has been part of that squad all season.
Dennis has just returned from a two-month loan spell with Bostik League South outfit Guernsey FC.
Republic of Ireland under-19 international Travers enjoyed his time with the Terras, telling the club`s official website: “It’s been a great time. It’s my first loan in England and I really can’t thank everyone enough. The staff, the players and the fans welcomed me at the start of the season and we have been on a great run so far and we are in a great position in the league table. I hope the lads carry it on for the rest of the season and hopefully the club can get promoted! I want to thank Weymouth for this great opportunity. I have definitely made friends for life.
“They are a great bunch of lads here, obviously I know a few of them from AFC Bournemouth. I will try to get to as many games as I can when I’m not playing and I’ll be keeping in touch with everyone.”
Dennis will go straight into the squad to face Bishop’s Stortford at the Bob Lucas Stadium tomorrow.
