The Bluebells - without a win since beating Didcot Town 3-2 at the Jelf Stadium on December 3 and now third from bottom with an 11 point cushion above the drop zone - revealed this week that their board has sat down with manager Paul Britton and his touchline team for talks on their current plight in EVO-STIK League Southern Division One South & West.
Before hosting Bishops Cleeve on Saturday, Yate Town director of football Nigel Hawkins, pictured, told gazetteseries.co.uk: “We had a clear the air meeting during the week after the Shortwood game about the season so far and we wanted to be a lot more further forward than we are.
“I think the performance against Wantage at home [a 1-1 draw in January] was the lowest point all season. It’s not where we want to be. The club is still going in the direction we want to go but going down is a danger."

He added: “Three points on Saturday will make a massive difference. It’s in our hands at the moment.”
