Unividual, which has grown from five to 14 employees in two years after the launch of a financial adviser academy, is the new home and away shirt sponsor for both the men and the women’s teams.
The deal was signed on Thursday 29th June and is initially for the 2017/2018 season.
The news comes just months after the club opened its new community facilities inside the club’s Swindome.
With a state-of-the-art gym, changing rooms and a physiotherapy suite the new facilities are worth around £85,000.
Marketing Director and part owner of Unividual, Cherie-Anne Baxter, was among local dignitaries and guests at the launch back in May.
Baxter, 33, who was born in Swindon and her family has run businesses in the town for several generations, acknowledged being a fan of both men’s and women’s football but said the decision to sponsor the club was made to support local sport in the community.
“For sometime we have wanted to give back to the local community in an area we feel passionate about but we haven’t found the right partner,” she said.
“After meeting Steve Moore (Commercial Director) I could see right from the offset that the club’s main aim is to use its success and position to benefit the wider community through activities aimed at tackling social, health and education issues across Swindon and Wiltshire.
“Initially we wanted to make a small donation via advertising our business on the pitch.
“Upon viewing the incredible facilities that the club makes available to both the men’s and women’s team and its wider community I was blown away.
“Swindon Supermarine and Unividual share similar values and I know that our support will be put to good use.”
Supermarine chairman Jez Webb has also said he is thrilled to have the support Unividual for the upcoming season.
“All at Supermarine are delighted and are very appreciative for the support shown to us from Unividual,” he said.
“To have a company of Unividual’s stature pledging this kind of support in the Supermarine brand is a fantastic tonic for all at the club and will enable us to continue our work to serve a wide cross section of groups in the local community.”
Just days before the Women’s Euro 2017 tournament kicks off on 16th July, one of Unividual’s main reasons for sponsoring the club was the focus that Swindon Supermarine place on women’s football.
Sadie Harrison, Club Secretary of Swindon Supermarine women’s team said: “The Lionesses journey at the 2015 World Cup enthralled the nation and raised the exposure of women’s football in England.
“We’re hoping the upcoming Euro’s will have the same positive effect and will result in more women and girls getting into football, regardless of their experience or ability.
“We’re busy with pre-season plans ahead of our second season in the Wiltshire Women’s and Girls league.
“The season kicks off on 3rd September and we’re keen to recruit new players over the summer. We are excited for the season ahead after the news of our new partners, Unividual, joining us on our journey.”
