Successor hunt starts next week

Paulton Rovers will start advertising for a new manager to lead them into the 2017-18 EVO-STIK League Southern season next week after parting company with Tony Ricketts.

Appointed in October 2015, the former Bath City player and coach left Athletic Field on Friday, six days after guiding the club in their final fixture of the EVO-STIK League Southern South & West campaign, last Saturday's 3-1 reverse at Tiverton Town.

Ricketts, pictured, worked for the Gloucestershire FA running the county’s representative teams, as well as the ladies and U18s sides, after hanging up his playing boots. The former Weston-super-Mare manager was also involved in the development of the women's game having worked with both Bristol Rovers and Fulham.

Rovers confirmed their manager's departure and the start of the formal process to appoint his successor in a short statement thanking him for his services.

A spokesman said: "Paulton Rovers Football Club have parted company with manager Tony Ricketts and will be advertising the post next week. Applicants for the position can email details to chairman David Bissex at: davejulie@gmx.com.

"The club would like to thank Tony for the hard work he has put in since joining us and wish him well for the future."
