The Evo-Stik League South East play-off final paired Hartley Wintney, in their first season at this level, with Cambridge City at The Memorial Fields.
The Hampshire side, who came up via the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League at the end of last season, finished fourth in the regular season – five points in front of City, who ended up in sixth.
City had beaten their hosts in both league matches, but in the big one, fortunes were reversed as Hartley Wintney scraped home 1-0 in front of a crowd of 710 to join champions Beaconsfield Town and AFC Rushden & Diamonds in winning promotion.
The tie was tight for most of the opening period, but then 5 minutes before the break, the hosts made the breakthrough when Nic Ciardini stole in to stab the ball home following a Jack Ball header.
The visitors dominated the majority of the second half but were unable to penetrate Hartley Wintney`s defence and so it`s successive promotions for The Row.
